Is God calling us to argue with politicians or is God calling us to make disciples?
When leading someone to the crossroad of faith, our responsibility is to show them Jesus, it is their choice to receive Him and His Word.
Some might argue that as Christians, we are to speak out against evil. And we should. But there is a difference between sharing the truth of Jesus versus expecting unbelievers to conform to the image of a God they don't know. Our fight is against the spiritual powers of darkness (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) and that will not be won by lobbying, protesting (nagging!), or extensive Facebook posts. Changing the law won't save anyone because Jesus' death on the cross already did.
When people followed Jesus, they came to Him as they were [sinners] and they learned the truth of God while studying at His feet. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. But Jesus can be hard to get to when folks are adding steps on the way to the Front Door.
Pray about it: Are you blocking someone's path to Jesus? Are you sharing the hope found in His name?
